We sit on the first and third Sunday of each month, beginning Sunday, July 5. Sitting begins at 8:15 a.m. If you are new, come at 8:00 a.m. for a short orientation and meditation instruction beforehand.

A typical morning holds two periods of zazen with walking meditation between them and a brief dharma reading and conversation to close, with dismissal at 9:30 a.m. Sittings are free to attend, and everyone is welcome.

Please arrive on time. We begin promptly at 8:15 a.m., so plan to be settled about ten minutes early. Out of respect for those already sitting, anyone who arrives after a period of zazen has begun is welcome to wait quietly and join us at the next break.

Location

Soul Yoga

We are graciously hosted by Soul Yoga and share their space. We are grateful to them for opening their home to this practice.

There is a marked paid parking lot, and free spots as well. If you park in the paid lot, validation is available just inside the Soul Yoga entrance; please take care of it before zazen begins. The entrance is on the Swamp Rabbit Trail side of the building, with stairs, and a ramp at the end of the building near Southernside Brewing.

If it is your first morning, arrive at 8:00 a.m. and read Start Here beforehand so you know just what to expect.

Saving a seat

You never need a reservation to sit with us, and no one who comes to sit is ever turned away. While our group is young, letting us know you are coming helps us prepare a cushion and make sure someone is ready to give you a proper welcome and your first instruction. It is an offer, never a requirement.

Anyone may simply arrive. Bring your own cushion or use one of ours, take a chair if the floor is hard, and you will always have a place.
